An accounting firm's growth challenge is unique

Demand exists, but standing out takes time, expertise and the right tools. Several of these sound familiar?

KIP-01

Growth runs on referrals

New clients come through old referrals. A good thing — but it doesn't scale, and if the referral flow dries up, growth stops.

KIP-02

Competitor X is everywhere

A competitor shows up on LinkedIn, search engines, industry magazines. Their know-how may not be at your level, but their marketing is.

KIP-03

The site exists but doesn't sell

Business-card site. Name, services, contact info — but nothing that sets you apart from the competitor or convinces a new client of trust.

KIP-04

A succession is approaching, the brand has stagnated

Younger partners want to modernize, older ones are used to the old. The brand refresh has been on the list for 3 years — and is still on the list.

What we do for accounting firms

In accounting, growth is built differently than in local services. The emphasis is on trust, expertise and long-term visibility.

  • Expert sites that reflect your level — A site whose content, structure and visual identity match your expertise. A business-card site isn't enough for a buyer.
  • SEO as the long-term visibility foundation — An accounting firm doesn't do as well on Google Ads as on SEO. We build visibility for organic search: "accounting firm [city]", "accountant for entrepreneurs", "payroll outsourcing".
  • Content marketing that builds trust — Blog posts, guides and articles whose readers become clients months later. This is slow but durable.
  • LinkedIn visibility support — The firm's LinkedIn page, content ideation and sharing support. Not ghostwriting — done in collaboration with the partners.
  • Advertising as a support function, not the main channel — Google Ads can be used as support especially for new services, but not as the primary traffic source.

Answers to the key questions

Do we need advertising, or can we get by with SEO and content alone?

Most accounting firms do better long-term with SEO and content than with advertising — that's the nature of the accounting buying journey. Advertising can be used as a support function for new service launches or quick brand reinforcement, but it's rarely the primary channel.

Do we have to produce content ourselves?

In most accounting firms the best content emerges from collaboration — we handle the writing and technical optimization, you provide expert substance. Typically this means 1–2 hours of sparring with a partner per article. With some clients the partners write themselves and we just edit — that works too.

How long until visibility improves?

First improvements show in 3–6 months (local SEO, search ranking lift). Significant results (new clients from organic search) typically come at 6–12 months. After that results continue growing for years.

Do you also handle a brand refresh if needed?

To some extent: new sites typically include a visual identity update that goes hand in hand with the marketing refresh. For larger brand projects (new name, new logo, fully revised brand message), we recommend turning to one of the specialized brand agencies in our network. Their work alongside ours usually produces the best outcome. Marketing and branding move in the same direction, but each is best handled by specialists in that area.

What if we're a small accounting firm (1–3 people)?

Fits. Our package scales from a small operator to mid-sized. For smaller firms we typically recommend starting with SEO and a few blog posts — advertising comes later or not at all. The starting point is always realism: how much you can implement, how much it makes sense to invest.

Can we work with you on consulting first before committing to a big package?

Absolutely. Our consulting (audit or strategy project) is a natural way to start, especially if you want an outside view before deciding. Some client relationships have started exactly this way — consulting first, broader cooperation later (or not at all — both are fine).
