VsRelax: Same campaign, +82% conversions
VsRelax's Google Ads campaign had been optimized for over a year and was working well. We replaced the WordPress site with a hand-coded foundation and moved conversion tracking to the server side. Advertising was not touched, yet a one-month comparison told an unambiguous story.
We had worked with VsRelax for over a year. The WordPress site was up in its original implementation, the Google Ads campaign was built and optimized for a small budget, and bookings came in steadily. On the campaign side, things were in order.
The technical foundation was the bottleneck. Mobile load time stretched to 4.1 seconds, and conversion tracking relied solely on the browser pixel. iOS restrictions and browser privacy changes were leaving a share of results unmeasured. Continuously optimizing the WordPress foundation would have cost the small business more than it would return, so the question was: is there another option that solves both problems without an unreasonable price?
What we did
- Visually identical, technically new
We rebuilt the site as a hand-coded foundation, visually pixel-identical to the old WordPress version. Users notice no change except that the page loads faster.
- Mobile load to 2.1 seconds
The old site loaded in 4.1 seconds, the new one in 2.1. Same content and same layout, only the site performance is faster. Load speed alone improves Google Ads quality score and reduces bounce rate.
- Conversion tracking moved server-side
We replaced traditional browser-side tracking with server-side tracking, so iOS restrictions and browser privacy changes no longer leave a share of bookings unmeasured.
- Advertising was not touched
The campaign, ad groups, keywords, bidding strategy and ad copy were all left as they were. We wanted to see how much the technical foundation alone changes the result.
In a one-month comparison, the change spoke for itself. The ad budget stayed the same. Clicks and impressions stayed essentially flat. But the number of conversions rose from 111 to 203, an 82 percent lift. Cost per conversion dropped at the same pace, from €2.95 to €1.88, a 36 percent reduction.
This example proves that the technical foundation is one of the largest multipliers in advertising. It is not an add-on, nor a nice-to-have. Same campaign, same budget, different technical foundation, and the result is +82% conversions.
The lift wasn't a one-month outlier. Enquiry levels have stayed above +80% from December 2025 onwards — a five-month follow-up confirms the change was lasting.
